Ramsey commissioners say they won’t tolerate properties falling into disrepair after securing a court victory over a local business.

The local government took Gecko Investments to court over the condition of the Victoria Mall complex on Christian Street in Ramsey. The company denied that it failed to comply with any notice between April and July.

Following conviction, the company was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay £8,612 costs and £50 per day until the improvement works were completed.

On Facebook, Ramsey Commissioner Lamara Craine said the board is working to address the issue of dilapidated properties and that more cases may come before the courts in the future.
